My Writing on Tropophilia:
- I will investigate topics relating to environmental and social welfare sustainability in: business (generally); food production, infrastructure, and consumption; clean technology and alternative energy. I will focus on both technological progress as well as overlooked problems of touted technological solutions (such as the carbon-heavy production of corn ethanol as a “clean fuel”); I will also examine the political ramifications and processes behind meaningful systemic change and adoption of new technologies.
- I will explore ways political candidates, parties, and movements utilize the social web.
- I will use my experience (and interest) in philanthropy to examine innovative uses of technology that direct philanthropic resources toward the most effective solutions, and highlight particularly innovative non profit or social venture projects using technology or the social web to creatively solve problems.
- I will look at public policy that incorporates a technological element, for example: clean technology infrastructure and development; net neutrality; stem cell research; city planning and public transit; public wireless networks; etc, etc…
